3 years of Joy with Logan

Happy Birthday to the best
Snuggle Bug.
Sometimes the littlest surprises are a blessing. Logan was one of those blessings. He has made everyone's life a little brighter.

Just like his brothers he had my heart from day one. I can not believe he will be 3 tomorrow. Aunt Mandy loves you so much Logan Kayne.

Eliana is turning 6

Yes same beginning as the last blog about her birth. lol With new photos added.

9-11 has many meaning for me.  Until 3 years ago it was filled with memories of sadness and tragedy, then I went into labor on 9-10-08.  LOL I cried.  I didn't want a 9-11 baby.  After hours of terrible labor full of slow dilation and taking pain meds for the first time, only in the iv, I had my loud and angry baby girl.

When they took her to do her hearing test they found she was struggling to breath.  They kept her in the nursery for observation overnight.  When I went down the next morning they had the hood over her and she was yanking the feeding tube out of her nose.
When her siblings and papaw finally came up to see her the doctor came in and told us they were going to have to transfer her to st.vincents and I would be released early so I could be with her. That is when we found out she needed a chest tube.  Took me until I was signing the release paperwork to breakdown.  I was so in shock.  I had a perfect pregnancy and she was my fourth I knew how to have a baby.  lol

Once she got to st. vincent they hooked her up to all this.
The next morning I got the call she was being put on the ventilator.
One of these days she will understand that she is a miracle.  That when she was born she had fluid in her lungs that made the left one collapse and get a hole in it.  Which caused pneumonia.  So she looked like this at 2 days old. A pincushion.
First time I got to hold her since she was born.  She was 6 days old. Took that long to get the ventilator and chest tube and all that out.  By this point she only had 3 or 4 tubes and wires.
Took a week to be able to eat. Never been so happy about poop.  Took that long for that too.

10 days old
She has not had any problems since and the only thing remaining are photos and the small scar on her side from the chest tube.
Such a big girl at one.
Aunt Angie gets a bite. aww

Boys trip to St. Louis

When we first got there we went to the old courthouse, citygarden and the arch. Day two was the City Museum and the Cardinals game. Day three was the zoo and home. All of which we enjoyed.

The only things we did not like was the hospitality was lacking. They just were not that nice. The amount of smokers was excessive and so was the amount of homeless people in a park that was otherwise nice. The traffic lights seem to be the longest ever which was annoying at times.

Things that we liked was the amount of parking downtown which was very convenient and there was a ton of food options. A lot of the builings are very nice. We found plenty of things to do and we still didn't see it all.

Savannah-Food

Savannah-Food

Gerald's Pig and Shrimp- was not worth the money. Some at the adults table had pulled pork sandwiches, which they thought were dry and without flavor. I had the Beef Brisket which was full of fat and the au jus was nothing but grease and the green beans were hard and had no flavor.

Uncle Bubba's- The hostess stand was very friendly and the store area was nice. Other than that our server was horrible and over half the table was not happy with their food. We had 13 people.

Lady and Sons- Amazing. We had the buffet and one plate was enough. So many delicious options. Plus you get dessert with it. Kudos to the serving staff there as well.

Mellow Mushroom- If you have never been there and like pizza and hippies I highly recommend it. The best one is in Asheville, NC though.

Leopold's Ice Cream- Yum and despite a line out the door it went quickly. The owner brought out glasses of water to people in line and then told us stories while we waited in line for the bathroom. The whole staff seemed very friendly.

Huc-a-poo- Big portions for little money. The food wasn't bad and the bar apparently was nice. They say it is an atmosphere for anyone.

Wet Willies- We only got appetizers but they were very good. Not sure where the best one is since they have many locations.

B&D Burgers- Nice places and the kids loved seeing all the alligators. The food was very good. I had the Fort Pulaski burger and anytime you put chili on a burger it is good. :-)

Pirate House- Was probably the best meal by far(only thing close was Lady and Sons). We had the buffet and they had the best green beans. I could have ate the biscuits all day though. Then we got to meet two "pirates" one of which gave us a tour and told us some stories about the building. The tavern part of the building was the tavern in the book Treasure Island.

Clary's Diner- was good for a brief snack after a walking tour. It was the best priced place we found.

There are also a lot of Fruit stands that were full of all kinds of fresh options.
